Frequently asked

Do I need an account to use Adoro?

No. There are no accounts and no sign-in. You open the app and start praying.

Does Adoro work offline?

Yes. Prayers, Scripture, the catechism, and the liturgical calendar all work without a connection. The app only uses the network when you tap an external link, such as the daily Mass readings.

Where is my data stored?

Everything you create stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us. See the privacy policy for details.

How do I back up my prayers?

You can export a backup file to Files or iCloud Drive, and Premium adds an optional automatic iCloud backup to your own iCloud account. Confession notes are always excluded from backups.

The read-aloud voice doesn't sound natural. Can I change it?

Yes. Adoro uses your iPhone's built-in voices. For the most natural sound, download an Enhanced or Premium English voice in your iPhone's Settings under Accessibility → Read & Speak (formerly "Spoken Content") → Voices. Adoro will pick it up automatically. You can also record any prayer in your own voice.

What is a Prayer Gift?

A Prayer Gift lets you send a prayer as a designed keepsake card, along with an optional recording in your own voice, right through Messages or email. The recipient can read and hear it with no app required.

Will updating the app erase my prayers?

No. App updates don't remove your data. The main way to lose data is deleting the app without a backup, so we recommend keeping a backup.

Where does the content come from?

Adoro uses trusted public-domain sources: the Douay-Rheims and Catholic Public Domain Version Bibles, the Baltimore Catechism, traditional Catholic prayers, and the General Roman Calendar.
